As a Software Engineer II within the Corporate and Investment Bank Payment Technology at JPMorgan Chase, you are part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you implement software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary to advance in your role.
Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
- Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation. Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
- Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
- Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Act as the primary liaison between technology, business, vendor, and regulator. The individual will be helping the manager as a face-off between the Business (Sales, Product, Operations, and Client Services), technology teams within JPMorgan to drive business tech solutions, vendors who provide solutions locally to handle all engagement issues to meet JPMC or Regulator standards, and regulators for any tech-related communication or point of contact
- Support day-to-day technology related matter for Payment business and key external partners (regulatory bodies, partner banks, and vendors). Assists Production Management team during non-office hours if help require from them.
- Oversee/execute projects delivery for expansion of business in ASEAN and manage escalations related to these.
- Own local applications as local owner, support the availability and stability of the local/regional/global technology infrastructure/vendor platform.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- At least 3 years of proven technology experience managing complex client demand, driving technology solutions and meeting business and client expectations as an Application Owner.
- At least 2 years in Application Developer, Network knowledge and Infrastructure knowledge (Unix, Window, MQ, Web , SFTP, NDM, SSL, HSM, etc)
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Good experience in financial services, with a sound understanding of Banking and/or related businesses(Payment/Collection/etc).
- Having background knowledge in banking domain especially in ASEAN Banking Landscape(Malaysia,Singapore,Vietnam,Thailand,Philippines, and Indonesia).
- Having good experience to work with ASEAN regulator(Paynet, BNM, SBV, MAS, BOT, ITMX, BSP, PCHC, BI, etc)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Language proficiency in ASEAN like Vietnam/Thailand/Indonesia is a preference since this role also require to work with stakeholders in ASEAN.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
