As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Data Protection & Recovery product line, you will be an essential member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role will involve promoting significant business impact through your skills and contributions, utilizing your deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture, helping foster diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong familiarities with micro-service designs and proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced expertise in Java programming language
- Deep technical knowledge of utilizing frameworks to deliver applications, and being able to dive deep into code implementations
- Skilled in designing and developing applications with robust resiliency features, ensuring they can withstand and recover from failure, maintaining availability, and providing consistent performance under varying conditions.
- Proficient in integrating security measures within the software development lifecycle, including threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments. Implementing best practices to safeguard our applications against potential security threats and breaches.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in one or more additional programming language(s)
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS technologies, awareness and understanding of other cloud vendor offerings
