As an AI Research Senior Associate within JPMorgan Chase's AI Research team, you will collaborate on multiple research projects with internal and external researchers. Your role involves formalizing problems for AI, developing algorithms for autonomous decision-making and optimization, conducting experiments, and communicating research significance. Participate in top-tier academic conferences to broaden the impact of your contributions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct end-to-end research in collaboration with internal and external researchers and applied engineering teams.
  • Engage in all aspects of the research lifecycle, including formulating problems, gathering data, generating hypotheses, developing models and algorithms, conducting experiments, building prototype applications, and communicating research significance.
  • Produce outputs that lead to high-impact business applications, open-source software, patents, and publications in top AI/ML conferences and journals.
  • Participate in relevant top-tier academic conferences to broaden the impact of your contributions.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • PhD in Computer Science or related field, or an MSc with commercial experience.
  • Strong expertise in one or more fundamental AI and ML techniques (e.g., search, time series analysis, RL), evidenced by research publications in prominent venues.
  • Curiosity and creativity in approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Strong expertise in specialized areas such as robotics and autonomous systems, real-time control, game theory, deep learning, and time series forecasting.
  • Extensive programming skills in Python.
  • Proficiency with orchestration frameworks, SQL, and other analytical tools.
  • Proficiency with rapid prototyping and disciplined software development processes
