Securities Services - Product Manager - Depositary Services - Vice President
Job Summary:
As a Product Manager within Depositary Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products comply with all relevant regulations and standards. You will work closely with other Securities Services Product teams, as well as cross-functional partners, including Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Sales, to develop and execute product strategies that align with regulatory requirements and our business objectives. You will be instrumental in integrating regulatory requirements into key processes for the safekeeping duties for which a Depositary bank is responsible, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment across Europe.
Job Responsibilities:
- Product Design:
Develop and syndicate the design of Depositary Bank services with focus on defining the scope and structure of safekeeping, record-keeping, and asset verification services to meet both regulatory and client needs, ensuring alignment with UCITS and AIFMD regulatory requirements. - Procedure Development:
Work with Operations, Depositary Service Delivery and Depositary Management teams to create and maintain standardized procedures for implementing product design, ensuring that all processes incorporate appropriate controls, audit trails, and consistency. Oversee the documentation and regular review of procedures to maintain regulatory compliance. - Regulatory Integration:
Ensure that Depositary Services policies, product definition and services directory fully reflect current and emerging regulatory requirements, monitoring directly or leveraging in-country Depositary Manager teams regulatory developments affecting Depositary Banks and assess their impact on service designs and procedures, and drive the implementation of necessary changes. - Risk Management:
Identify regulatory, commercial, and operational risks related to Depositary services, and design effective controls and mitigants within procedures to address these risks. Coordinate with Internal Audit and BCM for Custody, Safekeeping & Asset Verification topics, processes and issues. - Training
Provide guidance and training to client-facing Depositary Managers as well as Operations & Depositary Service Delivery staff on regulatory obligations, approve procedural updates, and ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory standards. - Stakeholder Communication:
Represent Depositary Services in internal and external forums, communicate regulatory updates, and advocate for compliance and strategic alignment with regulatory requirements. - Culture and Expertise:
Help to foster a culture of regulatory excellence and collaboration, partner with Product Management teams to drive innovation in service design, and develop expertise in regulatory trends to inform strategic decisions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- In-depth understanding of the regulatory landscape for Depositary Banks under UCITS and AIFMD, and its impact on service design and procedural implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated relationship management, influencing, and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to regulatory compliance, quality, and consistency.
- Ability to balance detailed regulatory requirements with strategic business objectives.
