Reference Data Associate

Drive the daily valuation and robust benchmarking of global fixed income instruments for JP Morgan's flagship indices.
Deliver accurate index operations and client reporting by leveraging market expertise and advanced analytics.

Job Summary

As a Team Lead within the Index Calculation Agent team (ICAT) as a part of Corporate and Investment Banking in Mumbai, you oversee the daily valuation of fixed income instruments included in global benchmarks. You manage index calculation engines, ensure efficient client reporting, and track market events affecting bond prices. You collaborate with global research teams to maintain operational excellence and deliver innovative index solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Capture and validate daily third-party bond prices against multiple market sources.
• Analyze price movements in relation to market news and expectations.
• Liaise with pricing vendors to resolve issues and minimize risk.
• Monitor systems for job success and coordinate with technology teams to resolve failures.
• Prepare and send daily pricing and market impact summaries with supporting news.
• Generate and maintain month-end index rebalance and composition reports.
• Produce and analyze valuation movements within client portfolios on a daily and monthly basis.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

• Minimum 7 years of experience in fixed income or index operations.
• Demonstrated team management skills.
• Strong understanding of bonds, accrued interest, yield to maturity, and related concepts.
• Experience working with vendors such as Bloomberg and Reuters.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

• MBA in Finance.
• Technical skills in Python, VBA, SQL, or similar tools.
• Experience preparing MIS reports and presenting in client meetings.
• Ability to contribute to ongoing process improvements and handle ad-hoc projects.
