Position Overview: As a Real Estate Executive ("REE") in J.P. Morgan's Real Property Asset Management ("RPAM") team, you will play a pivotal role in strategically growing and managing real estate assets owned in trusts and estate accounts of Private Banking clients. Reporting to the RPAM Practice Lead, you will oversee the management and performance of real estate properties, including residential, commercial, agricultural, vacant land, and other specialty properties. You will ensure the delivery of exceptional service to our clients and oversee the activities of asset managers supporting property management, accounting, operational, and service related duties related to an assigned book of real estate properties. Your role will involve strategic planning, business development, asset due diligence, and collaboration with senior management to drive initiatives to completion. You will be responsible for asset management and reporting activities to assess and manage risk, support account acceptance and holding recommendations, and ensure compliance with banking regulations and fiduciary standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver comprehensive asset management solutions.
- Oversee the management of real estate assets held in trust and estate accounts, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, policies, and J.P. Morgan standards.
- Ensure asset management aligns with client/account objectives, bank policies, and all applicable laws.
- Help lead business development with Trust Officers, Bankers, Wealth Advisors, and external legal and tax advisors to grow revenue and assets under management; direct due diligence for new business.
- Oversee due diligence reviews, including environmental, title, and insurance assessments.
- Develop and execute strategies to preserve and enhance property value, income, and sustainability.
- Oversee leasing, tenant relations, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor property expenses, budgets, and financial performance; advise regarding capital improvements and repairs; identify cost savings and revenue opportunities.
- Implement risk management strategies for assigned assets and accounts.
- Oversee property managers, brokers, and third-party vendors.
- Review property inspections and valuations.
- Perform annual asset reviews.
- Collaborate with legal, tax, risk, and compliance teams.
- Prepare and present complex analyses and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including clients, trust beneficiaries, professional advisors, executive management, and internal committees.
- Support property acquisitions and dispositions including transaction management.
- Assist with management of assets held in partnerships, LLCs, or other entities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and service needs.
- Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certifications (CCIM, CPM, RPA, or broker license) preferred.
- 7-10 years of commercial and/or residential asset management experience, ideally in fiduciary, private banking, or institutional settings.
- Solid understanding of trust and estate structures, administration, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Knowledge of estate planning concepts and the role of real property in wealth planning.
- Experience with a variety of property types including commercial, residential, and agricultural.
- Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, including negotiations, purchasing, selling, and leasing.
- Proven client service skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
- Expertise in real estate financial analysis and accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills; able to present complex information clearly.
- Effective presentation skills; ability to present to large groups.
- High integrity, discretion, and professionalism with confidential information.
- Proficient in real estate management software and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
