Product Director, Finance Cube Environment

As a Product Director in Finance Cube Environment, you lead innovation through the development of products and features that delight customers. As a leader on the team, you leverage your advanced capabilities to challenge traditional approaches, remove barriers to success, and foster a culture of continuous innovation that helps inspire cross-functional teams create groundbreaking solutions that address customer needs. In this role you will need to possess strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to partner across business, technology, and data teams in a structured and methodical manner. The platform supports around 1,000 regular users primarily across CCB Finance and the underlying data supports thousands of additional downstream Reports, Dashboards, Intelligent Solutions and other User Tools as part of managing the CCB P&L ($76B revenue, $18B net income & 86M customers), Balance Sheet ($1.8T Total Assets & 34% RoE) and headcount from a Finance perspective.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets
  • Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth
  • Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices, such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, mind-mapping, prototyping methods, product adoption strategies, and product delivery, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives
  • Owns product performance and is accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives
  • Monitors market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and identifies opportunities for product differentiation
  • Lead the overall strategy and daily execution for the Essbase cube environment, overseeing teams, managing cube inventory, and handling new consolidated cube requests.
  • Develop and own the transformation plan to decommission Essbase cubes over 2-3 years, migrating to modern data platforms in partnership with Technology, Design, Product teams, and stakeholders.
  • Define and implement team structure strategies, develop career roadmaps, and ensure clear role separation and growth opportunities as the transformation progresses.
  • Oversee operational tasks, serve as the escalation point for support, execute communication strategies, and document and transform operating models and user journeys from Essbase-centric to Databricks-centric.
  • Direct the design and update of cube definitions, evaluate and consolidate custom hierarchies, and partner with Technology to build, test, and deploy solutions while negotiating responsibilities between Product and Technology teams.
  • Partner with Data Owners and Firmwide Product & Technology teams to ensure data governance and architectural alignment, and engage with key stakeholders to communicate progress and drive the transformation agenda.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications
  • Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to influence the adoption of key product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • Experience driving change within organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Proven experience in product ownership or senior leadership roles within Finance, Data, Product or Technology environments.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong team leadership, organizational design, and people development skills.
  • Strong understanding of data concepts, database queries, data platforms (Databricks preferred), cube concepts (eg Essbase), ETL & Business Intelligence Tools
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Experience with data governance, compliance, and partnership with technology teams and familiarity with emerging technologies such as LLMs and agentic workflows is a plus.
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
