Payments-Commercial Card-Senior Relationship Manager-Vice President
As a Senior Relationship Manager within Commercial Card, you will own and manage a portfolio of Global Corporate Bank clients, each with annual commercial card spend exceeding $20MM. You will serve as the primary Commercial Card and Payments Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your clients, responsible for driving retention, deepening wallet share, and accelerating product revenue growth.
In this highly visible, client‑facing role, you will build trusted, consultative relationships with senior client stakeholders while partnering closely with internal banking, treasury, product, sales, marketing, and service teams. Your success will be measured by client satisfaction, revenue growth, solution adoption, and operational excellence across the Commercial Card product suite.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and grow a portfolio of large, complex Commercial Card relationships, serving as the primary point of accountability for client success, retention, and revenue growth.
- Develop and execute strategic expansion plans that drive increased product penetration, spend growth, and long‑term client loyalty.
- Act as a trusted advisor and Commercial Card SME, providing thought leadership, best practices, and insights on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and payments innovation.
- Lead structured, revenue‑generating optimization initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve program performance, efficiency, and client outcomes.
- Deliver a best‑in‑class client experience, including regular, value‑driven engagement, proactive issue management, and strategic bi‑annual or annual account reviews.
- Coordinate cross‑functional partnerships with Banking, Treasury Services, Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Service teams to ensure seamless execution and issue resolution.
- Advocate for client needs internally, ensuring timely escalation, clear communication, and minimal disruption to client operations.
- Drive performance against client scorecards, exceeding satisfaction, retention, and profitability objectives.
- Present confidently to senior and C‑suite stakeholders, articulating complex solutions and strategic recommendations with clarity and impact.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years of experience in Payments, Treasury Services, or Commercial Card.
- Deep product knowledge of payables and Commercial Card solutions, with the ability to translate features into business value.
- Proven ability to build, own, and expand senior‑level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional client experiences with measurable business results.
- Experience managing multiple complex clients with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, including experience presenting to executive‑level audiences.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to align client and firm objectives.
- Proven ability to innovate, problem‑solve, and design customized solutions to address client challenges.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Salesforce, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strategic, collaborative team player who understands how decisions impact downstream processes and outcomes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including client accounting systems and ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with data integrations and file delivery methods such as SFTP, APIs, and related connectivity models.
