Payments Operations - Senior Associate

The Payments Operations Senior Associate role is for a key member of the team in Sydney, Australia. As an Operations Sr Associate, you will be accountable for managing NPP (New Payments Platform), High Value Clearing and Low Value Clearing Operations. You will have the responsibility to lead the NPP projects.
This role also involve strong governance and Project management skills. A critical part of this role requires you to possess strong knowledge of local banking processes, NPP product and regulations pertaining to payments and clearing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Independently manage New Payments Platform Operations and Projects.
- Drive Payments (NPP, SWIFT, Direct Entry, BPAY) projects independently.
- Act as back up for other operational activities related to Cheques Clearing, Cash Transfers, BPAY, High Value Clearing and Cross border transactions.
- Manage all internal and external service level agreements and cut offs.
- Partner with local and regional teams for day to day operations related matters.
- Assist and drive key projects, daily tasks and exception management.
- Ensure daily tasks are completed within stipulated timelines. All exceptions and enquiries from local and regional teams are addressed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with partner banks on regular basis, review and update service level agreements, have periodical calls with all partner banks to ensure the policies and procedures are updated.
- Have strong understanding of KPIs and KRIs.
- Have strong focus on Risk and Control. Partner with Risk and control managers to ensure all processes are in compliance with policies.
- Work in close cooperation with Product, Technology, Compliance, Sales and Implementation teams to drive the broader franchisee agenda.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Hands on experience in Banking, including NPP, domestic and cross border payments, Merchant Acquiring, Trade Finance and Liquidity Operations.
- Minimum 8 years of Banking experience with an emphasis on NPP, low value (BECS) and High Value clearing payments processing.
- Good knowledge of eComm products like payments through cards, merchant acquiring.
- A track record of executing and managing significant change agendas locally and regionally.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent process and analytical skills with the ability to work in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and develop strong partnerships across diverse teams.
