Payments Investment Governance - Delivery & Execution Demand Management - Associate

As an Associate on the Investment governance, Delivery & Execution team, you will be responsible for aggregating and analyzing requests between the Payments organization and other parts of JPMs for new products and features. You will also support related Investment Governance responsibilities across the strategy, planning, execution, and commercialization phases of digital product lifecycle.
The Payments Investment Governance (IG) team plays an important role within the Payments line of business by guiding the planning, investment, and delivery of new Payments products and features. The IG team guides Product, Technology, and Commercialization teams in defining investments in new products and features that align with senior leaders' vision and strategy, and then guides those teams on tracking product delivery and commercialization activities. The work of the IG team impacts that of over 125 Payments products, $1.6B of investment, 100+ Product Business Managers and 9k technologists.
Job responsibilities
- Lead a unified, product-centric Payments Investment Governance process that delivers strategic alignment, investment transparency, and discipline in execution & delivery to empower accountable ownership across the Payments portfolio and accelerate value realization for the organization
- Establish and evolve a standardized operating model, governance forums, and processes to achieve continuous quarterly investment planning and performance tracking
- Align delivery requirements through a well-orchestrated process that optimizes the management of our resources with full transparency between people, initiatives and financials, and accelerates delivery on our strategic priorities
- Ensure requests are clear and complete and ready for review and prioritization by executives.
- Track status, manage dependencies across lines of business, and alert leaders to issues or delays with delivery.
- Request and deliver work- tracked in multiple systems, including a in-house planning platform, Jira and Jira Align
- Contribute to playbooks and training materials for partner LOBs on Align standards and dependency practices
- Facilitate forums to align decisions and remove bottlenecks; synthesize status and decision logs for leadership
- Roll-out and execute Enterprise Transformation efforts across Product, Technology and Sales verticals to drive operating model enhancements and portfolio optimization
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 2+ years in product/portfolio operations, Agile delivery, or program management in complex, cross‑LOB environments
- Hands‑on experience with backlog tools (Jira, Jira Align) and portfolio governance artifacts; confident with initiative/dependency modeling and hygiene practices
- Strong stakeholder engagement: synthesize input from leadership, product owners, and delivery teams into clear priorities and plans
- Analytical rigor (Excel/Sheets), data quality discipline, and comfort building transparent dashboards or summaries
- Excellent written/verbal communication, including executive-quality slide decks; ability to publish concise updates and facilitate decision forums
