Payments - Instrumentation & Metrics - Analytics Associate
Are you a data professional who thrives on turning raw data into actionable insights and embracing new technologies? As an Analytics Solutions Associate on the Payments Instrumentation and Metrics (I&M) Analytics team within Payments Transformation, you will apply expertise in data modeling, reporting, data integration and transformation, process automation, and BI best practices to build high-impact analytics and data products.
The Payments I&M team, comprised of data scientists, data analysts, and business leaders, crafts data products that transform business operations. Be part of a team that impacts thousands of clients globally and promotes significant change within J.P. Morgan.
This role drives advanced analytics to solve complex, non-routine business problems and translates data into actionable product and market insights. You will design high-quality, user-centric dashboards, build data pipelines, and partner closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful analyses, reporting, automation, and presentations-managing multiple projects end-to-end and iterating based on user feedback.

Job Responsibilities
- Tackle complex analytical problems using advanced methods to generate clear, actionable insights for clients and stakeholders.
- Own end-to-end analysis: requirements gathering, data acquisition, processing, analysis, delivery, and executive-ready presentations.
- Explore innovative uses of proprietary data to address business questions, optimize customer experiences, and drive revenue.
- Build robust data workflows: understand input/reference sources, create transformations, and extract data across diverse database platforms.
- Deliver tactical and strategic product and market insights through analytics, reporting, automation, and visualization.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards for senior management and business stakeholders that enable decision-making.
- Apply UI/UX best practices: prioritize clarity and simplicity, maintain consistency, and establish strong visual hierarchy.
- Optimize dashboard performance for fast and efficient user experiences.
- Iterate continuously through testing and user feedback, including A/B testing to refine designs.
- Coordinate and communicate across cross-functional teams; manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Support rigorous UAT to validate solutions against requirements and quality standards.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in Business Intelligence and/or Analytics, preferably in banking/finance; proven ability to deliver timely, high-quality analysis from complex, diverse data sources; able to work independently with regular status updates and meet objectives.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced: Tableau, Alteryx, SQL
- Core: Python, ThoughtSpot (foundational to intermediate).
- Data at scale: Python, R, SQL, Spark for large dataset analysis.
- Data management: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts; exposure to BI/database platforms such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks, Snowflake.
- Analytical and Process Skills: Excellent problem-solving; quick learner able to propose and implement process efficiencies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong teamwork adhering to common standards and best practices; excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; relationship-building skills to partner with stakeholders and drive results.
