Olympic & Paralympic Rights Approvals & Governance, Associate
Join Sports & Entertainment Marketing to help protect and enable JPMorganChase's Olympic & Paralympic sponsorship by ensuring rights are used correctly and approvals are managed efficiently. This role sits at the center of sponsorship governance, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to support compliant activation.
As an Associate in the Olympic & Paralympic Rights Approvals & Governance Team you will support the day-to-day operations and process management for rights approvals tied to JPMorganChase's worldwide Olympic and Paralympic sponsorship. Sitting within Sports & Entertainment Marketing, this role facilitates internal and external approvals for the use of Olympic/Paralympic marks, terminology, athlete imagery, hospitality-related usage, and other sponsorship assets across Lines of Business and regions. The Associate ensures requests are complete, routed to the right approvers, tracked through resolution, and documented in accordance with sponsorship terms, brand standards, and firm governance expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end intake, routing, and tracking of Olympic & Paralympic rights approval requests (e.g., marks/terminology usage, creative concepts, content, experiential, hospitality-related materials)
- Facilitate coordination across internal stakeholders (e.g., Brand, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Communications, Controls) to ensure timely, accurate reviews and decisions
- Coordinate external approvals with rights holders and event stakeholders (e.g., IOC/IPC, organizing committees, Team USA or applicable entities) and their designated review portals/processes
- Maintain approval trackers, documentation, and decision logs; ensure version control and audit-ready recordkeeping
- Review incoming requests for completeness (required fields, correct assets, context, usage details, deadlines) and triage to the appropriate workflow
- Develop and update governance tools (e.g., playbooks, FAQs, intake forms, checklists, templates) to enable scalable and consistent activation across LOBs/regions
- Educate internal partners on "rules of the road," common approval pitfalls, and recommended lead times to improve quality and speed of submissions
- Support risk identification by flagging potential rights conflicts, improper usage, or reputational considerations for escalation and resolution
- Partner with program leads to align approvals timing to campaign and event milestones; run recurring status cadences and readiness checkpoints
- Track service levels (cycle times, volumes, backlog, issue categories) and produce reporting to inform process improvements
- Coordinate operational needs such as access management, distribution lists, and workflow hygiene for rights approval systems/tools (as applicable)
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- At least three years experience in marketing operations, governance, project coordination, brand compliance, legal/approvals routing, or sponsorship operations
- Demonstrate strong process management skills, including intake workflows, documentation discipline, and deadline management
- Communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders, including summarizing issues and documenting decisions
- Apply high attention to detail and accuracy, including strong version control and recordkeeping practices
- Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, coordinating across teams without direct authority
- Manage multiple concurrent requests and priorities, remaining calm and organized under time pressure
- Use common productivity tools (e.g., Excel trackers, PowerPoint, shared inbox/workflow tools) to manage operational work
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and high-visibility materials
- Learn and apply sponsorship rights/usage guidelines, brand standards, and governance requirements consistently
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Have experience supporting Olympic/Paralympic or major event sponsorship approvals, rights usage, or brand governance
- Bring familiarity with rights-holder review portals and approval workflows (creative/content, marks/terminology, athlete/ambassador usage)
- Demonstrate experience working with Legal/Compliance/Risk stakeholders in a regulated environment
- Show experience building playbooks, FAQs, and process documentation for enterprise users
- Bring experience using workflow/case management tools (e.g., intake forms, ticketing systems, approval queues)
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify patterns and improve cycle times and request quality
