National Community Engagement Relationship Manager

The JPMC Community Engagement team is hiring a Relationship Manager to help the firm advance key policy, business and community priorities through engagement with national third-party organizations. In this role, you will be responsible for stewarding a portfolio of strategic relationships with influential organizations that shape the national dialogue on financial services including, but not limited to, consumer issues, small business, housing and civil rights.

As a Relationship Manager on the Community Engagement team in Corporate Responsibility, you will report to the Community Engagement National Executive and serve as the firm's primary point of contact for influential national stakeholders, such as policy organizations, advocates and national intermediaries. You will implement strategies to promote dialogue, foster mutual understanding, and advance the firm's interests. This strategic role complements and aligns with the firm's policy and regulatory functions, with a focus on educating, listening to and influencing stakeholders. You will have a deep understanding of the role of large financial services organizations in the economy and the communities they serve. Through collaboration, innovation, and proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, you will help develop and drive advocacy strategies that address pressing challenges, foster conditions for dialogue and understanding, and leverage opportunities to make a lasting impact.

Community Engagement safeguards and enhances the firm's ability to serve clients, customers and communities through authentic, long-term relationships with key stakeholders. You will work closely with colleagues across Corporate Responsibility and the business to proactively address issues identified by the firm and external stakeholders, create forums for conversation on timely topics impacting the financial services industry and activate on events and sponsorships that provide platforms for firmwide storytelling.

Job Responsibilities

  • Steward partnerships with a portfolio of national influential stakeholders working on issues including, but not limited to, consumer issues, housing, small business and civil rights. Portfolio is subject to change as dynamics evolve across the national team.
  • Work with Government Relations and Public Affairs to develop and execute strategies that inform, educate, drive narrative change and advance policy priorities most important to the firm.
  • Represent the firm at events, fostering relationships that support strategic objectives.
  • Manage an annual grant portfolio of national partners aligned with identified areas of strategic focus.
  • Activate the firm's participation in and thought leadership at events and sponsorships hosted by stakeholders.
  • Design, organize and host forums and events that promote dialogue and shared understanding between senior firm executives and key partners.
  • Participate in annual business planning to ensure alignment of activities with firm priorities and evolving community needs.
  • Track information from partners to identify trends, emerging issues, and actionable insights that inform strategy.
  • Work closely with colleagues to proactively address issues and opportunities raised by external stakeholders.
  • Conduct analysis to inform decisions on strategy and investments.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in stakeholder management, government relations, grantmaking, and/or consumer and/or housing policy, particularly working in or with financial services companies.
  • Thought leadership and subject matter expertise on issues impacting the firm's reputation and business operations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, considering multiple points of view.
  • Integrity and strong work ethic with high attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Creative, flexible, collaborative, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Office tools: PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and others as needed.
  • Domestic travel, approximately once monthly or as needed.
