Loan Servicing Manager I - Centralized Money Movement (Commercial & Investment Bank)

Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) services several lines of businesses within JPMorgan Chase, including Business Banking, Global Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Commercial Banking. The group consists of approximately 1,300 employees and is responsible for over $500 billion in loans outstanding.

As a Loan Servicing Manager I within the Wholesale Lending Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership and managerial oversight for a team performing maintenance and servicing of loans, payments, reports and reconciliation. You will establish and implement risk control processes and operational business models, ensure loan documentation and operations are consistent with various LOB and bank policies, and build and maintain relationships across the business. This role provides an opportunity to guide staff, handle performance issues, and contribute to team member development and talent management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handles oversight and administrative functions for loan funding, and advances
  • Involved in setting direction, policies, and guidelines for the team
  • Establishes and implements risk control processes and operational business models
  • Ensures loan documentation, loan closings, loan files, audits, and operational risks are managed and conducted consistent with various LOB and bank policies as well as government regulations
  • Builds and maintains relationships with banking teams, credit teams, and key partners across the business and supporting functions
  • Guides staff to reconcile daily funding activity to account for all daily cash transactions
  • Manages team member development, talent management and succession planning
  • Provides mentoring, training and assistance to new and existing team members
  • Assists in the creation and implementation of departmental procedures
  • Sets team performance standards using key metrics and monitors the team's overall performance against goals set
  • Assists in scoping, and UAT support system enhancements

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in loan servicing or a related financial services field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of loan servicing processes, regulations, and compliance requirements, including familiarity with relevant software and technology platforms.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of effective team leadership, with the ability to motivate and develop staff, manage performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources efficiently.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Risk Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with loan servicing operations.
  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience in process optimization and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in loan servicing.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred
  • Technology Proficiency: Experience with loan servicing software and systems, such ACBS, VLS, LOAN IQ and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Cultural Competence: Experience working in diverse environments and the ability to manage and communicate effectively with a diverse team and client base.
  • Meets or exceeds performance expectations. Not under performance coaching / performance improvement plan
  • Successful completion of all periodic High Value Business Entitlements (HBVE) background checks
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and state regulations affecting loan servicing
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to leverage data insights to drive decision-making and improve servicing operations
