Lead Technical Program Manager

As a Lead Technical Program Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, IP Foundational Services, you will lead the delivery of complex technology programs that support firmwide business outcomes. You will plan and execute major data center failover / disaster recovery (DR) events to support technology lifecycle management (TLM) upgrades, including coordinating with infrastructure teams, lines of business, and vendors. This role requires strong program planning, disciplined change and incident management, clear stakeholder communications, and the ability to operate effectively during high-impact events, including some weekend releases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain end-to-end program plans (scope, milestones, dependencies, resourcing, and timelines) to deliver technology initiatives on schedule
  • Lead delivery of major data center failover/DR events supporting network and infrastructure technology lifecycle management (TLM) changes
  • Partner with engineering, infrastructure, product, and business stakeholders to define objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Identify risks and issues early; drive mitigation plans, decisions, and contingency options to protect delivery and event stability
  • Coordinate application/service failovers with lines of business and the existing DR team to ensure readiness and controlled execution
  • Own the release plan for each event, including communications, office hours, stakeholder updates, and go/no-go checkpoints
  • Manage vendor coordination for required hardware and software changes, including scheduling, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve event runbooks, checklists, and readiness artifacts
  • Run event execution calls (checkpoint/bridge), track actions in real time, and ensure alignment across all participating teams
  • Drive change management and incident management processes during events, including escalation paths and post-event follow-up
  • Use metrics and post-implementation reviews to identify improvements and reduce operational risk over time

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience (or equivalent expertise) in technical program management delivering complex technology programs in a large organization
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build working relationships and influence decisions across teams and clients
  • Strong technical fluency, including experience working with vendor products and managing vendor relationships in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources and budgets and to lead teams through delivery in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to break down business, technical, and operational goals into executable plans
  • Flexibility to support weekday/weekend schedules for multiple weekend change events per year
  • Experience implementing and coordinating technical solutions, including working across infrastructure and application stakeholders
  • Ability to lead through change, manage dependencies, and maintain control in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks and common tools used to manage backlogs, releases, and cross-team work
  • Strong understanding of project/program management methods and portfolio delivery practices in an enterprise setting
  • Experience with resource management, operational change management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and budget/business case support
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one technology domain (e.g., infrastructure operations, network services, platform services, or software delivery)
  • Experience building strong partnerships across multiple organizations and leading distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Track record of improving operating discipline (e.g., runbooks, controls, readiness reviews, post-mortems) and reducing event risk
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
