As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Equities Technology team, you will define and promote the UX vision for complex, data‑rich web applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end UX: discovery, IA, interaction, visual design, prototyping, validation
  • Build and scale a React‑aligned design system (tokens, component library, accessibility)
  • Partner with engineering and product to ship accessible, high‑performance UIs (WCAG compliance)
  • Lead design sprints, establish UX metrics (task success, time‑to‑task, SUS/NPS), and iterate fast
  • Mentor designers, elevate craft quality, and influence senior stakeholders

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • 10+ years in UX for complex web apps and 5+ years leading teams or major initiatives
  • Portfolio showcasing enterprise‑grade UI, data‑dense workflows, and measurable impact
  • Strong React/TypeScript literacy (componentization, states, design system integration)
  • Expert in Figma (or equivalent), UX research methods, IA, interaction and visual design
  • Accessibility, performance, and usability rigor; excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Operates assertively and creatively-pushes boundaries while aligning to product goals

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in fintech/enterprise platforms, data visualization, or design operations at scale
