Head of APAC Data Privacy, Firmwide Privacy Office - Executive Director, APAC Chief Data & Analytics Office
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is pivotal in advancing the firm's data and analytics capabilities, ensuring strong adherence to data & AI risk & control while enabling the data & analytics strategy for superior decision-making and business outcomes to serve our clients and markets. The Asia Pacific Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) advances the firm's data and analytics strategy, platforms, solutions, capabilities, and governance to deliver trustworthy, responsible, innovative, and commercially value outcomes across the APAC markets and businesses.
The Head of APAC Privacy for the Firmwide Privacy Office (FPO) will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the firm's global privacy program across the Asia Pacific region. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex, regulated financial environment, driving cross-functional initiatives that ensure compliance, innovation, and operational excellence. The role's expertise will be essential in navigating APAC privacy regulations and fostering a culture of data protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support projects to enhance the firm's privacy program from an APAC perspective.
- Design and implement critical programs across multiple privacy domains, contextualizing global initiatives for the APAC audience.
- Advise on privacy requirements for new initiatives, ensuring consistency in privacy notices, cookies notices, and regulatory compliance.
- Advise on data incident risk of harm assessments and breach notifications.
- Draft and manage governance documentation, including Statements of Responsibility, appointment documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the design and implementation of FPO standards, documents, and procedures tailored for APAC.
- Develop privacy controls and deliver training programs, including those related to interaction with privacy regulators.
- Provide guidance on AdTech, online tracking regulations, biometrics, AI, children's privacy, and data deletion.
- Participate in training and regional strategy planning.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Business, Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of experience in privacy program design and implementation, preferably within the financial services or regulated sector.
- Strong technical skills and proven ability to advise on privacy requirements for new initiatives.
- Experience with data protection impact assessments, risk of harm assessments, and breach notification processes.
- Knowledge of APAC privacy laws and regulations, with familiarity in global frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Ability to work independently and manage relationships across functions and geographies.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Legal or compliance background.
- Familiarity with the three lines of defense model.
- Privacy certifications such as CIPP-A, CIPP-E, CIPP-M, or equivalent.
- Understanding of AdTech, online tracking, and emerging privacy technologies.
- Experience supporting Data Protection Officer activities
