As a Financial Reporting Associate in Investor Services team, you deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and distributions for clients, including large fund managers and superannuation funds. You provide technical input on accounting and tax matters, resolve queries, and act as a subject matter expert for financial reporting products. You help drive process improvements, support governance reporting, and build strong client relationships. Job responsibilities
- Review financial reporting products, including Distributions, Trial Balances, Financial Statements, and Regulatory reports (i.e. Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reporting and
- Australian Accounting Standards Board 7 (AASB7) reporting)
- Ensure all deliverables are completed and delivered according to client service level agreements
- Assist the senior manager with financial reporting and tax-related issues
- Facilitate communication with clients regarding reporting requirements and queries
- Build and maintain internal and external client relationships as a subject matter expert
- Represent the financial reporting team on client projects, process improvements, and product development
- Support governance reporting and ensure adherence to audit and control policies
- Provide creative solutions to reduce errors and improve processes
- Provide back-up coverage and assist team members during high volume periods
- Promote a risk-aware culture and proactively manage operational risks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline
- Qualification as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)
- At least 6 years of experience in financial accounting or tax related roles within financial or professional services firms
- Solid experience in statutory reporting and application of accounting standards (i.e. Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS))
- Prior experience in tax reporting, including income tax returns and trust distribution calculations
- Effective planning and time management skills with a proactive approach
- Strong excel skills
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- High emotional intelligence to partner effectively with stakeholders
- Demonstrated client-centric focus and commitment to exceeding expectations
- Ability to work flexibly and deliver under pressure
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience in CA or CPA firm will be an advantage
- Experience with process improvement and streamlining work processes
