As a Trading Services Associate within the Fixed Income Middle Office, you'll support Portfolio Management by safeguarding data quality, overseeing the trade lifecycle, and ensuring accurate capture of activity into accounts' positions. The Fixed Income Middle Office is a centralised function providing product expertise covering the firms' entire Fixed Income product range (Institutional clients, ETFs, OEICs & SICAVs). You'll maintain real‑time integrity across investment accounting and benchmark feeds, provide operational steer for new clients and funds, and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and uplift controls. You will also be responsible for ensuring that operational risk is mitigated and streamlining processes that enhance client outcomes and scale the platform.

Job responsibilities
- Support Portfolio Managers, Investment Specialists, and Traders with daily portfolio management queries.
- Oversee the trade lifecycle to ensure accurate booking, processing, settlement, and capture into account positions.
- Ensure real‑time data accuracy across investment accounting, benchmarks, and index feeds; remediate data issues promptly.
- Drive operational readiness for new client onboardings and fund launches; design and implement new processes as needed.
- Provide global business advisory and consultancy to portfolio management, trading, risk, and regional product development hubs.
- Facilitate global business implementation for new instruments, markets, and regional expansion, testing new system functionality.
- Lead and partner on intelligent automation solutions that improve efficiency, controls, and data quality.
- Oversee outsourced back‑office functions, including trade support and settlements; work with brokers on account onboardings and market claims.
- Document procedures and own controls; identify and resolve issues, escalate risks, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Practical experience in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of fixed income products (e.g., government and corporate bonds, bond futures, interest rate swaps).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working with large datasets.
- Internship, co‑op, or academic project experience related to portfolio management, markets, or investment operations.
- Ability to analyze data, reconcile differences, and drive issues to resolution with a strong control mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to partner across portfolio management, trading, operations, risk, and technology.
- Strong organization and time management to meet daily and intraday deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail with accountability for data accuracy, documentation, and evidence standards.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with order management and portfolio management systems.
- Knowledge of reference data and static data dependencies impacting trade processing.
- Experience building dashboards or automations using Python, SQL, or business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle oversight and settlement coordination.
- Experience contributing to cross‑functional change projects and user acceptance testing.
