Executive Director - Firmwide Public Policy Planning and Execution
The Global Government Relations team identifies and manages political, regulatory, and legislative risks and opportunities to create a better environment for the bank and the communities it serves. You will support the development of policies and supporting strategies intended to advance a competitive US economy, leveraging expertise in strategic planning, project management, research, policy, advocacy, and strategic relationship management.
As an Executive Director within Firmwide Policy Planning and Execution, you will serve as a senior advisor, shaping the development and execution of the department's and Firm's highest priorities and top strategic initiatives. You will be involved in active mentorship, coaching, and the opportunity to work with and impact the agendas of senior management across the bank. You will coordinate closely across Lines of Business and other Corporate partners such as Communications, Legal and Compliance, and Risk Management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead horizontal teams to proactively identify and articulate the firm's positions on a range of public policy topics, including necessary stakeholder management.
- Support the development of internal and external advocacy initiatives intended to advance the firm's policy priorities.
- Conceptualize, oversee, and monitor the roll-out of initiatives aligned with policy priorities to ensure effective execution and monitor progress.
- Develop financial, staff, and other resourcing requirements and supporting justifications; determine relative allocation and prioritization among policy priorities and supporting initiatives
- Anticipate and mitigate political and reputational risks.
- Mentor and coach project teams, fostering professional development and high performance.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive briefing materials, including memos and presentations, for senior management, tailoring format, voice and content to varied audiences.
- Simultaneously manage multiple complex projects within the department and those that extend to Lines of Business, Corporate functions, and strategy organizations across the firm.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Commercial mindset and background; experience working in the private sector.
- 8+ years of diverse problem-solving experience, ideally with a management or political consulting firm or in-house strategy team.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Outstanding analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and advanced project management experience.
- Experience presenting to and communicating with senior management.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degree preferred
- Conversant in multiple policy issues is a plus.
- Experience in financial services is a plus.
- Experience working in or exposure to government, policy or non-profit organizations is a plus.
