Equities Product Controller - Senior Associate

Join this fast-paced team as an Associate with a focus on Equities Product Control.

As a Senior Associate Equities Product Controller within the financial controllers and trading desks team, you will ensure the accuracy of Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet, and month-end close procedures. You will have the opportunity to promote and implement robust controls and new business initiatives, coordinate across various front & back office support functions, and serve as an analytical and project support resource. This role will allow you to leverage your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to develop strong working relationships and contribute to our team's success.

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for the global coordination and production of the P&L and Risk Scorecard for the Global EDG business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data submission. This comprehensive pack is reviewed by senior management on a monthly basis to evaluate the effectiveness of all controls and ensure they are being executed as required.
  • Collaborate with controllers across regions to ensure submissions are accurate and compliant with the P&L and Risk minimum standards. Where necessary, facilitate amendments to submissions to meet these requirements in a timely manner.
  • Produce, validate, and report T+1 P&L and Risk figures and assist with the month-end close process.
  • Substantiate and report daily P&L attributes, including but not limited to Delta, Gamma, and Vega.
  • Drive coordination across various front and back office support functions to ensure the resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide T+1 P&L commentary that explains significant drivers of P&L, including market context where necessary.
  • Handle various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis.
  • Obtain daily P&L and Risk sign-off from the Front Office to ensure compliance with PC P&L and Risk minimum standards.
  • Develop, update, and enhance automated process solutions for improved controls and efficiency.
  • Serve as an analytical and project support resource for NA Equities product control.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 4+ years within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
  • Experience doing P&L and month end close process
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area
  • Solid understanding of financial products
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Alteryx
