As an Associate in Rates Sales within the EMEA Sales & Marketing team, you will support day-to-day client coverage and execution across rates products for Germany and Austria. You will help deliver market color, respond to client requests, and coordinate closely with trading, syndicate, and research to provide comprehensive coverage. You will contribute to a disciplined execution process, including trade booking and new issue order-taking. You'll thrive in a fast-moving environment by staying organized, prioritizing effectively, and operating with strong attention to detail. You'll bring curiosity and a learning mindset as you expand your cross-product knowledge and impact.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day rates sales coverage activities across a broad institutional client base
  • Support client servicing by delivering timely market updates, product views, and trade ideas
  • Assist with execution of client orders in coordination with trading and internal partners
  • Manage trade execution workflow, including trade booking and follow-through on operational details
  • Support new issue processes, including order-taking and coordination with syndicate partners
  • Partner with research to translate market themes into actionable client communication
  • Identify key market drivers and articulate product mechanics using clear market language
  • Provide reliable desk coverage and sales back-up to ensure continuity and responsiveness
  • Contribute to building and maintaining client relationships through consistent, high-quality engagement
  • Apply strong process discipline to quality control, risk awareness, and escalation where appropriate
  • Develop cross-product knowledge and proactively broaden understanding of related fixed income solutions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in a client-facing sales role within financial markets
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income products and key market drivers
  • Product knowledge across rates derivatives, cash bonds, and financing topics
  • Ability to communicate market views and execution updates clearly to clients and internal partners
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under time pressure with appropriate urgency
  • Strong organization skills and consistent attention to detail in execution processes
  • Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and self-manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills across sales, trading, and other partners
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in German and English

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Existing client relationships within institutional fixed income (e.g., asset managers, insurers, pensions, banks, hedge funds, corporates)
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory considerations impacting rates markets and client activity
  • Experience supporting or leading new issue order-taking and syndicate coordination
  • Experience using Excel VBA for workflow efficiency or analysis
  • Demonstrated track record of proactive idea generation and client engagement
