EMEA Rates Exotics Product Control - Associate
The EMEA Rates Exotics business is responsible for trading a wide array of interest rate products, spanning from vanilla derivatives to advanced, complex instruments. This includes structured payouts, correlation products, and options, along with innovative solutions such as range accruals, CMS-based structures, swaptions, and hybrid products tailored to meet sophisticated client needs in a dynamic market landscape.
As an Associate Product Controller in the EMEA Rates Team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate P&L and Market Risk reporting. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders such as Front Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Business Managers, and various teams across Finance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and report daily P&L and risk metrics.
- Validate and analyse daily P&L explanations, including Volcker attributions, first and higher order effects, and residuals.
- Perform month-end close reconciliations between the P&L Aggregator and General Ledger.
- Identify, design, and implement new controls and processes to enhance P&L production efficiency and align with Global Product Control standards.
- Participate in ongoing and new projects to ensure Product Control requirements are met.
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly P&L commentaries to senior management, explaining results in terms of desk risk, strategy, and market factors.
- Work with Financial Control to resolve cash flow breaks and review FX balances.
- Partner with the business to implement robust controls and support new initiatives.
- Coordinate across front and back office support functions to resolve control and reporting issues promptly and accurately.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to process improvement and innovation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of financial products.
- Advanced Excel skills (VBA coding preferred).
