As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technologies line of business, Digital Documents Services team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, design techniques and web applications/REST APIs
  • 8+ years of leading development effort, developers and providing full end to end solutions
  • A thinker of good architecture, design, resiliency and stability in the software
  • Hands on with version control practices, Continuous Integration tools e.g. Jenkins
  • Working Knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Hands on with relational databases e.g. Oracle or MS Sql Server
  • Agile based software development experience
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience leading a product and collaboration with Product Owners or Product Managers
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Operational exposure on working with AI tools
  • Good to have knowledge of Big Data platforms e.g. MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Good to have experience with ReactJS, Angular or similar UI technologies
  • Prior financial or banking experience is a plus
