Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled data scientist to have a meaningful impact on a large scale at one of America's leading financial services firms.

In this role, you'll partner across Consumer and Community Banking and Data and Analytics to gather business requirements from stakeholders. You'll ultimately work on analytics related to JP Morgan's Chase's branch and ATM distribution network helping inform leaders on ways to optimize the network as well as forecast and monitor the impact of these optimization decisions. This role is part of the Distribution and Geospatial Data Science team within CB Decision Sciences. Our team's goal is continuing to drive optimization and growth across Chase's retail network. The network has grown tremendously over the last several years to serve 66 million households with retail operations across the contiguous 48 states. We're very proud of the work we do to make banking more accessible to communities and we wouldn't have been able to do this without the people developing and executing upon data and analytic solutions across the firm!

Job responsibilities-

  • Work with partners in Real Estate, Corporate Strategy, Distribution Strategy, Data and Analytics, and various lines of business to understand and document analytic project objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Ensure constant two-way communication with partners throughout the analytic journey.
  • Execute on analytics roadmaps to support Chase's branch network optimization initiatives and the impact of these decisions.
  • Robustly document developed analytics adhering Chase's internal and external control's obligations.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills-

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Physics, or GIS fields) required plus 2 years of related experience.
  • Master's level degree in an analytical field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Physics, or GIS fields) in lieu of 2 years of related experience.
  • Excellent communicator able to convey information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to business partners and senior executives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data science models (e.g. k-means clustering, random forest regression, XGBoost, etc.)
  • Domain specific expertise including fraud/risk analytics, bank operations, and distribution strategy preferred, but not required.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills -

  • Understanding of spatial data science and GIS applications (e.g., Esri, QGIS, PostGIS) preferred.
  • Financial services background preferred
