Data Owner Associate Senior - Card Collections

As a Data Owner Senior Associate within the Cards Collections team, you will be important to the firm's agenda of enabling the business to promote faster innovation through the use of its data by ensuring that data is clearly documented, of good quality and well-protected. This role is responsible for all data that is created, provisioned, or consumed in one or more business applications, and which may support business objectives, advanced analytics, business operations, and reporting functions. The Sr. Associate Data Owner will also collaborate with technology and business partners to ensure that required data is delivered in a manner consistent with the quality and safety requirements of the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Leverage subject matter expertise and key partnerships to define metadata and classifiers of data critical to their business area.
- Execute processes and procedures to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks across the data lifecycle in their business area, include risks related to data protection, retention and destruction, storage, use, and quality.
- Develop operational procedures for developing and delivering data in support of business operations, strategic objectives, advance analytics and reporting goals.
- Define and document data requirements of key stakeholders to ensure understanding of data and its use across business and functions.
- Partner with technology and business resources to investigate root causes of data issues and provided recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate with technology and business partners to resolve identified data issues in a timely manner
- Develop relationships with data providers and data consumers, including partners in the Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Risk and Control functions
- Mentor and support junior staff in their professional development, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Master's or Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of industry experience in a data-related field.
- Subject matter expertise in business or product data or processes.
- Strong Knowledge of basic SQL or other data querying languages
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data lifecycle management, including data protection, data quality and data classification
- Experience with ETL or data visualization tools to assist in communicating data insights
- Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture.
- Experience in defining and documenting data requirements, metadata, and classifiers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technology and business teams to ensure data quality and compliance with standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address data issues
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Structured thinker with good business acumen.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Conceptual, logical and technical Data Modeling
