As a Product Manager Vice President in the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Data Governance Product and supporting the Content Enrichment team, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. The Content Enrichment Area within CCB Data Governance is responsible for transforming data governance with AI - bridging the gap between physical fields and business meaning for seamless automation and trust. The area product aims to establish Governance through Glossary as the foundation for metadata accuracy and transparency, enable a structured and scalable classification framework, ensuring consistency in how data is defined, categorized, and governed across CCB (Consumer & Community Banking), and leverage AI and Automation to enhance metadata management, classification and governance improving data trust, compliance, accessibility by automated workflows.
The Product Manager - Area Product Owner (APO) for the Data Governance Content Enrichment area will develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap, aligning with the company's overall business goals. This role involves defining product requirements, collaborating with product, design and technology teams, engaging with customers, conducting market research, and developing compelling product positioning. Additionally, the Product Manager-APO will promote the product's value proposition to build brand loyalty and ensure alignment across a matrixed environment, leveraging strong technical and communication skills to drive strategic change.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
- Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for the Data Governance Content Enrichment team which oversees the glossary and reference data, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Define product requirements and collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop, prioritize, and deliver features. Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure a seamless, user-centric experience.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats. Develop compelling product positioning and value propositions that differentiate our data governance solutions.
- Use Case Identification: Leverage business requirements, competitive analysis, and research to identify use cases and high-level requirements for exceptional user experiences.
- Promote the product's value proposition to build brand loyalty and advocacy among users and stakeholders. Drive alignment across a matrixed environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ownership.
- Coordinate data migration and management activities, integrate customer requirements into the roadmap, author detailed user journeys, and collaborate with engineering to refine and test features.
- Prepare materials, prototypes, and training resources in partnership with stakeholders, balancing feature delivery with technical and governance requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- 5+ years of experience as a product manager, product owner, or similar role, including user requirements discovery, requirements refinement, and backlog management.
- 5+ years of experience managing data governance solutions for Proven track record owning AI-driven metadata governance platforms that embed "shift-left" controls into schema design/CI-CD and schema registries; deliver real-time NLP/LLM-based semantic mapping of physical fields to business glossary terms; auto-suggest and steward-approve creation of new terms to continuously enrich the glossary; automate metadata classification with human-in-the-loop guardrails for standardization; and generate dataset context and search-tags to improve discovery-integrated via APIs with catalogs and reference data/MDM, and managed with clear KPIs (precision/recall, glossary coverage, time-to-classify, adoption).
- Proficiency in problem and solution framing using Word, PowerPoint, and Confluence; visual representation using Visio and Lucid; data analysis and transformation using Excel, Alteryx, SQL Editor, Python, and Spark; experience with Teradata, Snowflake, AWS, Oracle, and Databricks databases; ability to assess Java code for testing; and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver features via API.
- Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong storytelling ability is essential.
- Strong technical background with the ability to effectively communicate feature requirements to engineering teams.
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment, with a proven ability to manage tight delivery timelines and drive strategic change.
- Master's degree in product management, computer information systems, information systems, data analytics, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience with a bachelor's degree in the above fields.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Prior data governance experience is highly desirable; technical knowledge of glossary and reference data within a large financial institution is preferred.
- Experience conducting user research, analyzing quantitative customer data, and gathering other voice-of-customer insights.
- Demonstrated proficiency in best practices for web-based application information architecture, design patterns, usability principles, and techniques, as well as a strong understanding of modern data platforms and architectures (e.g., AWS) and how governance integrates with engineering workflows
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification or equivalent credentials in Data Management/Data Governance are preferred
