Credit Officer, Vice President - Technology, Disruptive Commerce & Internet

As a Credit Officer, Vice President in the Technology, Disruptive Commerce & Internet Group, you will be at the heart of our cross-functional team, delivering credit solutions to a diverse range of high-growth industries, including Software, Applied Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and high-growth Consumer. You will assess and manage risks, both on new originations and on an ongoing basis within the existing portfolio of borrowers. Opportunities range from venture debt facilities to support runway extension for early-stage startups to institutional term loans to support Lines of Business. The Technology, Disruptive Commerce & Internet Group Credit team is national, so you will be covering clients within our industries nationwide, with the opportunity to travel to meet with clients in person. The role entails in depth due diligence of new opportunities, complex financial modeling, and legal negotiation. You will be a key partner to Commercial Bankers as well as other key internal stakeholders across the Investment Bank and Capital Markets. You will mentor less experienced team members and guide them in risk grading, credit request analysis, and documentation.

Job responsibilities
- Aid team members in the analysis and structuring of new transactions and management of their assigned credit portfolio
- Work alongside counsel to document transactions, renewals, and amendments to existing facilities.
- Work with founders and client executives from due diligence and negotiations of a new transaction through to ongoing portfolio management and subsequent transactions post-close
- Utilize excellent credit analysis skills to appropriately assess risks / mitigants, balance risk / reward, diligently manage renewals, amendments and new transactions as well as maintain acceptable credit reporting metrics
- Form well thought out, independent views and be able to voice your opinion in a clear, concise manner and to defend that position with partners and senior leadership
- Work proactively, in a constructive, diplomatic manner, with internal contacts to keep transactions moving
- Act with a sense of urgency and drive execution to meet both internal and client deadlines
- Partner effectively to develop fulsome internal relationships, including being looked to as an expert on Credit Policy and will be viewed as the "go-to" person for credit and credit process for all products
- Provide leadership in the market by being a positive contributor to the team, including being a mentor to less experienced team members, embracing change and participating in various projects or improvement exercises for the benefit of the organization
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both internally and externally and use those communication skills to effectively solve problems
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- BA/BS/BBA degree is required
- Completion of a major corporate or commercial bank credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience) and a thorough understanding of bank credit policies and procedures
- 6+ years' experience in commercial banking/lending including extensive credit analysis
- Significant accounting and finance knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of credit agreements and other loan documentation
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Proven ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships.
- Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to learn quickly
- High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in Direct Lending and / or Digital Infrastructure lending, preferred
