As a Credit Card Attorney - Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in the U.S. Card Regulatory, Loyalty & Lending Innovation team, you will provide expert legal and regulatory guidance to the Card Services and Connected Commerce sub-lines of business within JPMorgan Chase's Consumer & Community Banking division. You will work closely with senior management, product owners, and cross-functional teams to support new product offerings, ensure compliant operations, and drive strategic initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to independently manage high-impact legal matters, influence business decisions, and contribute to a collaborative and dynamic legal team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and commercially pragmatic legal and regulatory advice to key senior leaders of the Card Services and Connected Commerce businesses, including the Product Owners for co-brand partnerships, Card Marketing, Growth and Innovation, and Lending Innovation and their teams, with respect to all aspects of consumer and small business lending products and features. The position is responsible for providing trusted advice in all areas, including credit cards, lending to consumers and small businesses, creating and operating buy now, pay later products and maintaining compliant operations.
- Support Card Services and Connected Commerce on new product offerings and initiatives, draft and approve language for regulatory customer notices and customer experiences, and support multiple areas of the Card Services and Connected Commerce organizations, including Acquisitions, Pricing, Marketing, Risk, Product and Customer Service.
- Collaborate with other legal teams and functional partners to ensure appropriate awareness and escalation of issues as they arise.
- Participate in cross line of business initiatives/practice groups as a subject matter expert on laws and regulations impacting Card Services and Connected Commerce.
- Identify and communicate regulatory trends and developments and advise Card Services and Connected Commerce management on the impact to the Firm's operations.
- Provide legal support for Regulatory Exams and internal Audits.
- Contribute to the strong culture, collaboration, and cohesiveness of the extended Card, Connected Commerce & Strategic Transactions Legal management team.
- Some travel, as required, e.g. to support significant in-person meetings and maintain visibility with business clients.

We're looking for an experienced attorney who will work independently and with outside counsel to represent the Firm in legal matters, as well as provide advice on a broad range of other matters and issues. The position involves independent contact with, and support of, senior management in the Firm.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- A minimum of five years of post-admission legal practicing experience
- JD degree. All candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
- Ability to assume significant independent responsibility immediately
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an in-depth understanding of consumer lending regulations, particularly credit card regulations, with experience in their application and compliance
- Prior substantive experience working in the financial services industry and/or with a consumer lending provider/issuer.
- Strong people leadership, analytical and communication skills with the ability to well and communicate effectively to both legal and non-legal professionals, including senior executives of the Firm
- A good sense of humor and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A proven ability to think strategically and comfortably operate in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- The confidence to be outspoken when necessary
- The ability to understand business and partner needs across various disciplines to deliver practical solutions
