Communications Vice President - Corporate & Investment Bank (all genders)
This role is an opportunity to join the DACH Communications team, based in Frankfurt supporting executives across all lines of business-from Global Banking to Payments and Securities Services, as well as corporate functions-reporting to the DACH Communications lead.
As a Vice President within our Communications team, you will support the Commercial & Investment Bank and work closely with communications teams from other lines of business within the firm. You will lead local internal communications projects and media relations initiatives, and partner with the EMEA Social Media and Events teams on content and campaigns. Through global collaboration, you will help deliver a coordinated narrative for our DACH franchise. In addition, you will be responsible for providing regular reports and analysis to measure the team's impact in the market.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate with colleagues in proactive media outreach and responding to external enquiries on behalf of the firm's businesses across the DACH region.
- Own and develop day-to-day relationships with financial journalists covering market developments and the firm, including coordinating approved commentary from bank spokespeople.
- Orchestrate end-to-end logistics for media interviews and background conversations, preparing and supporting spokespeople throughout.
- Source interview opportunities and craft compelling pitches for proactive thought leadership in local financial and national media.
- Shape key messaging with local Business Management and global line of business communications teams to support spokespeople in the DACH region.
- Lead internal communications by enhancing established formats and developing new mechanisms to engage local employees.
- Take responsibility for internal communications deliverables in the DACH region, including local newsletters, internal announcements, and internal events.
- Advise executives on speaking opportunities for target audiences, overseeing logistics and preparation.
- Collaborate with the EMEA Social Media team on DACH-specific content; produce analysis and measurement reports for the local Communications team.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Significant agency or in‑house communications experience, with a strong track record leading media relations in banking, financial and/or professional services.
- Advanced understanding of media monitoring tools for reporting purposes, with experience compiling cuttings and media analysis reports on a regular basis.
- Strong editorial judgment and issues/crisis management capability; confident making time‑critical calls and guiding spokespeople.
- Sharp news instinct in financial services and beyond; proactive in identifying narratives and moments for thought leadership.
- Attention to detail, a deep respect for journalism and high standards of accuracy and fairness; intellectual curiosity across markets, infrastructure, payments, and technology.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; executive presence and the ability to counsel, influence, and engage senior leaders.
- Enthusiastic, with a 'can do' approach to all aspects of work.
- Fluent in English and German.
