Client Onboarding Advisor

As a Client Onboarding Advisor within the Client Operations team, you will support the end‑to‑end onboarding of clients by assessing complex client structures, advising on documentation requirements, and ensuring compliance with global Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) standards. You will work closely with front‑office partners, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver a timely, accurate, and high‑quality onboarding experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert throughout the onboarding process by assessing client structures, determining client complexity, and evaluate information requirements.
- Review and process complex client's documentation, Source of Wealth and corroboration information and validate all are in compliance with local AML/KYC regulations.
- Ensure high quality of documentation and information related into the client KYC records.
- Provide advisory services maintaining strong relationships with Bankers to ensure compliance, facilitate the onboarding process and achieve right client outcome.
- Represent the Client Operations function in client engagements, including leading or supporting onboarding walkthroughs and explaining requirements in a clear, professional manner.
- Provide responsive client coverage as needed, showing flexibility to support urgent onboarding priorities across time zones in coordination with the team and stakeholders.
- Navigate complex situations, identify and mitigate risks related to the account opening process through proactive analysis, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective solutions.
- Serve as the first line of defence to detect cases requiring further review or escalations to relevant committees and stakeholders.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (in Finance, Business, or Law)
- Client Service, Banking or AML/KYC background with strong knowledge of local AML regulation and KYC requirements
- Experience in delivering at pace in a pressured environment.
- Client-facing confidence and professionalism, including strong presentation skills and ability to represent the firm with clients. Ability to constructively collaborate and adapt their communication style according to the stakeholders. Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Flexibility to adjust working hours when required by client needs and onboarding timelines (e.g., cross-time-zone coverage), with appropriate planning and stakeholder communication.
- Deep knowledge of the different structures within the Wealth Management industry and the documentation associated with such structures.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability manage multiple streams of work concurrently and effectively prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail on data analysis and procedure requirements.
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility as well as ability to work autonomously and independently in a controlled framework.
- Fluency in English and one more language is mandatory.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Power Point and Word is essential.
