Business Manager in Payments - Associate (all genders)

As an Associate in the EMEA Payments Business Management Team, you will drive strategy, manage controls, and support financial performance for EEA & Switzerland branches. Your will be a key point of contact for front office and support functions, contributing to business analysis, reporting, and risk management, ensuring compliance and fostering strong relationships across Finance & Business Management teams.
Job responsibilities
- Be a point of contact to the Payments front office and support functions to help achieve business objectives and opportunities
- Assist in communication of the business strategy, performance and priorities
- Proactively and on request provide strategic analyses and reporting to facilitate business progression
- Manage business risk by ensuring an effective control environment
- Ensure the business' compliance with Line of Business and firm-wide objectives and policies
- Build effective relationships and work closely with F&BM colleagues (Planning & Analysis, Controllers, Industry/Product business managers, Office Management)
- Ensure monthly performance reporting and forecasting process, including revenue, balances, volumes, spreads and expense trends are completed
- Support the annual planning process and monthly performance tracking against plan; prepare of periodic and ad hoc business performance presentations / reviews
- Review deal pipeline and work closely with Sales to provide monitoring against targets
- Assess impact of changes in regulations / market events
- Contribute to the EMEA & Global F&BM agenda (priorities, projects, events)
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Education to degree standard (or equivalent)
- Understanding of Payments products, systems and processes
- Fluent German and English language skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills; flexibility, ability to prioritise requests and multi-task in the face of ever-changing and sometimes conflicting demands
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and effective under pressure
- Strong analytical and numeric skills, excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills; ability to work well individually and partner effectively within a team
- Pro-active and problem solving mindset with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
- A thorough understanding and appreciation of risks and controls
- Disciplined approach to processes and controls with a view to continuous improvement
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Education to degree in an Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline is preferred
