Associate, Technology Sourcing & Procurement

Are you ready to make an impact in global technology sourcing? As an Associate in our team, you'll play a key role in building relationships across CCB, CIB, and AWM lines of business to advance the Global Supplier Services agenda. You'll support category management, supplier negotiations, and contract development for a wide range of technology categories-including cloud services, IT infrastructure, business applications, and more.

Job Summary

As an Associate within the Consumer and Community Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Asset and Wealth Management lines of business, you will have the opportunity to build relationships that advance the Global Supplier Services agenda across various Technology Categories. These categories encompass Compute, Content Authoring and Consumption, Platforms, Databases, Middleware, Peripherals, Storage, IT Infrastructure, Technical Applications, Business Applications, Finance Applications, Tools & Utility Applications, and Security. Additionally, you will gain exposure to leading Technology vendors in the industry utilizing cloud services such as Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, Software as a Service, and Analytics as a Service.

Job responsibilities

  • Conduct product and service awareness studies, historical spend analysis, TPO reviews, and market analysis; gather inputs from LOB and partner with onshore teams, procurement operations, and SRM for findings and observations.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including gold and diverse supplier spend, segmentation, preferencing, capability analysis, and rationalization.
  • Negotiate savings to P&L and EPD-enabled spend; manage contract terms, including new or improved MSA and SLA terms.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA, Secondary Data Use Restrictions, and appropriate purchasing channels.
  • Develop strong working relationships with executives in Technology Services and other lines of business to understand business drivers and third-party requirements.
  • Maintain third-party vendor relationships and channel compliance in line with GSS strategic priorities.
  • Support the development and execution of strategies for significant sourcing transactions and identify qualified suppliers capable of meeting JPMC requirements.
  • Perform in-depth supplier due diligence as required.
  • Collaborate with LOB clients and stakeholders to define requirements for sourcing transactions and design competitive processes to obtain the best value-added solutions from suppliers.
  • Evaluate competitive supplier offerings and present sourcing options that meet JPMC's business needs.
  • Lead negotiations to establish commercial terms, oversee the contract development process through approval and execution, and ensure compliance with all policy and procedural guidelines

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Proven technology sourcing experience, specifically with global and regional third-party providers.
  • Extensive knowledge in sourcing, contracting, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to multitask and complete complex assignments or deals within defined deadlines.
  • Experience working with all levels of management across regions within the bank.
  • Strong client and relationship management skills.
  • Advanced financial analysis capabilities.
  • Working experience in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Broad strategic thinking in sourcing or vendor management roles, with strong knowledge of RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, legal contracts (including SLAs), and contract administration, including risk management and improvements in contracting practices.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • At least 10 years of experience managing third-party providers; experience in commodity or category spend management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Ariba.
