As a Regulatory Reporting Associate in the Japan Asset Management Operations team, you play a key role in producing accurate and timely regulatory reports for clients and regulatory requirements. You work closely with internal teams, outsourced vendors, and auditors to ensure high standards and compliance. You help drive process improvements and support business initiatives, contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Job responsibilities
- Produce the Fund Holders Report (運用報告書), Fund Financial Report including Business/Profit & Loss reports, Financial Activity Report (事業報告書), and Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Risk Asset Assessment Report for BASEL regulation accurately and on time, in collaboration with internal teams, outsourced vendors in Japan and the fund auditor
- Develop and implement new procedures to streamline and enhance process efficiency
- Perform and provide oversight for Fund Accounting, Client Fee Billing, Regulatory Reporting, product and fund life cycle events, as well as all related services delivered by outsourced vendors in Japan as well as overseas locations
- Support business initiatives, client requirement, and team to develop technical expertise especially in the area of products, operational processes and vendor management
- Assist in operations initiatives and provide a focus around automation, utilizing various tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Monitor market developments in different markets and understand how regulations impact operational processes and the funds
- Review operational processes to identify areas for enhancement and identify and escalate key risks and participate in resolution

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of experience in regulatory reporting related roles
- Good knowledge of fund holder, financial, and regulatory reports
- Strong understanding of Japanese and BIS regulations
- Native proficiency in Japanese and intermediate proficiency in English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Japanese and English in order to foster complex conversations with all levels of people (internally and externally, local and international)
- Possess high risk awareness, strong operational control, proven problem-solving, and process improvement skills
- Excellent team member who can cultivate an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
- Issue handling skills from detection to resolution
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Strong willingness to actively learn new and unfamiliar topics
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience in Asset Management industry will be a plus
