Asia Emerging Markets Rates Strategist - Vice President

As a Vice President in the Asia Rates Strategist team in Singapore, you will lead client coverage on the regional rates markets. You will work closely with economists and other strategists within the Asia Local Markets team to formulate top-down and bottom-up views on Asian bond markets, issue trade recommendations, and deliver the firm's Asia Local Markets bond outlook to JPMorgan's global client base both within and outside the region.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience publishing on Emerging Markets fixed income strategy and interfacing with clients at a senior level. They should demonstrate strong technical skills, commercial acumen, and leadership capabilities. Intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach are essential to excel in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze macroeconomic themes and technical drivers affecting Asian rate markets to formulate views and investment recommendations at both the regional and country levels.
- Collaborate with the Asia strategy team, economists, and colleagues in the global Emerging Markets team to formulate forecasts and views.
- Lead the marketing and communication of views to external clients and internal sales and trading teams via published reports, webinars, client roadshows, and conferences.
- Build and manage analytics and quantitative models.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, contributing to the development of the team's expertise and capabilities.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 7 years' experience covering Emerging Markets fixed income markets at a financial institution.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Finance, Economics, or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) discipline.
- Familiarity with economic and financial databases such as Haver and Bloomberg.
- Deep understanding of macroeconomics, financial economics, and fixed income markets.
- Strong analytical skills; advanced knowledge of statistics and econometrics/data science.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to engage senior clients and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and a demonstrated team player.
