Asia Emerging Markets Macro Strategy - Analyst

As an EM Macro Strategy Analyst, you'll work alongside experienced strategists and economists, building your skills and making an impact in the fast-moving world of emerging markets.

As an Analyst in the Asia Emerging Markets Macro Strategy team, you will work with us to develop top-down and bottom-up views on Asian economies and markets. You will help analyze macroeconomic trends, contribute to research publications, and assist in delivering the firm's outlook and trade ideas to clients and internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze macroeconomic themes and technical drivers affecting Asian emerging markets to support investment views and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Asia strategy team, economists, and global Emerging Markets colleagues to formulate forecasts and market outlooks.
  • Assist in preparing and publishing research reports, presentations, and client materials.
  • Support the team in communicating views to clients and internal sales and trading teams via reports, webinars, and meetings.
  • Build and maintain analytics, databases, and quantitative models to support research and strategy.
  • Stay up to date with market developments, economic data, and policy changes relevant to Asian emerging markets.
  • Adhere to the firm's risk management policies and applicable legal and regulatory rules.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in macro research, strategy, or emerging markets at a financial institution or research organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline.
  • Familiarity with economic and financial databases such as Bloomberg or Haver.
  • Strong grasp of macroeconomics, financial markets, and emerging market dynamics.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills; knowledge of statistics or econometrics is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with data analysis, programming, or quantitative modeling (e.g., Python, R, Excel VBA).
  • Prior experience publishing research or presenting to clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Progress toward a CFA or similar professional qualification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in an Asian language is an advantage.
