APAC Swap Client Service Middle Office - Associate

As an Associate within the APAC Swap Client Service Middle Office, you will be the first point of contact for external clients and internal partners on all operational issues related to swap trades. You will manage the full trade lifecycle, resolve client queries, and ensure all operational controls are followed. You'll work closely with front office, product, technology, and client service teams to deliver seamless trade support and drive process enhancements. Together, we create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for external clients on operational issues, including valuations, collateral, settlements, documentation, and reporting
  • Act as the first point of contact for front office trading and sales on swap trade bookings and issue resolution
  • Define and execute client engagement agendas, including best practice reviews, key performance indicators, surveys, and straight-through processing rates
  • Attend and contribute to quarterly review meetings with external clients
  • Coordinate with global middle office and client service partners to drive process improvements and system changes
  • Communicate open issues clearly to clients and internal teams, ensuring shared understanding and timely updates
  • Manage client queries, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution
  • Oversee the full trade lifecycle, including allocations, settlements, corporate actions, affirmations, and regulatory reporting
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and partner with relevant teams to deliver solutions
  • Apply management information and trend analysis to identify root causes and resolve issues
  • Work closely with settlement teams and third-party institutions to ensure timely and accurate trade capture

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, traders, and support teams
  • Self-starter with initiative, ownership mentality, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to take responsibility and escalate issues appropriately
  • Team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment; highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize effectively under pressure
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to drive and manage global initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a client-centric approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to control standards
  • Working knowledge of equities, bonds, and swap products, and their process flows
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formula construction and reconciliation solutions

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior experience in swaps or middle office roles will be an advantage
  • Good understanding of derivatives regulatory knowledge will be beneficial
