As a Senior Software Engineer in the Equities Front Office Trading and Analytics Team, you will drive the development and enhancement of applications supporting the Equity Derivatives trading and sales desks. You will partner with global colleagues across Trading, Sales, Quantitative Research, and Technology to deliver impactful solutions. Your work will directly influence business-critical systems, automation strategies, and analytics platforms. You will thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment, contributing to business transformation and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance applications for Equity Derivatives trading and analytics
- Collaborate closely with trading desks, Quantitative Research, and technology teams
- Lead the Systematic Quoting Platform workstream for EMEA
- Automate Front Office processes and functions using technology solutions
- Maintain and improve the existing technology stack to ensure stability
- Participate in business transformation projects across market, trade, and client analytics
- Propose and explore new solutions to drive competitive advantage
- Apply disciplined code management, testing, and deployment practices
- Break down requirements into technical deliverables and estimate effort
- Communicate effectively with global team members and stakeholders
- Solve complex mathematical and technological problems
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Python and agentic development (ADLC)
- Business knowledge of simple derivative products (vanilla options, variance swaps, strategies involving vanillas)
- Understanding of pricing and risk evaluation using Greeks
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, etc.)
- Knowledge of at least one relational database (Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
- Effective utilization of unit testing
- Experience across the full project lifecycle
- Ability to work within a global, collaborative team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills for problem description and solution explanation
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience with systematic trading technology platforms
- Development, deployment, and maintenance of commercial service-oriented applications
- Equities business knowledge or relevant experience in other business areas
- Unix or Linux knowledge
- Working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes
- Experience with project management
- Understanding of service-oriented platforms and current generation open source frameworks
