Job Summary
As a Sr. BIOS Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and debugging of BIOS/firmware for cutting-edge computing platforms. You will play a critical role in bringing new products to market, ensuring their stability, performance, and compatibility.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement BIOS/UEFI firmware for various embedded and server platforms.
Debug complex hardware and software issues related to BIOS/firmware, working closely with hardware engineers, software teams, and external vendors.
Analyze and resolve BIOS/UEFI defects, including system hangs, boot failures, and performance bottlenecks.
Develop and execute test plans for BIOS/UEFI firmware, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define BIOS/UEFI requirements and specifications for new products.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies in BIOS/UEFI and platform firmware.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Participate in design reviews and code reviews to ensure high-quality and robust firmware solutions.
Document BIOS/UEFI architecture, design, and implementation details.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development for x86 or ARM architectures.
Strong proficiency in C and assembly language programming.
In-depth understanding of PC architecture, including chipsets, CPUs, memory, and peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA).
Experience with UEFI firmware development tools and debuggers (e.g., ITP, JTAG).
Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, VMware) and their interaction with BIOS/UEFI.
Solid understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems concepts.
Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
