Summary

The Quality Inspector III is responsible for performing advanced inspections and quality verification activities on complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. Working with limited supervision, this role independently evaluates product conformance, investigates quality concerns, supports root cause analysis activities, and serves as a technical resource for inspection methods, quality requirements, and workmanship standards.

Starting Pay Rate: $26.50/hr.
Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies.

  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, workmanship standards, and customer quality requirements.


  • Inspect and validate the installation of valves, fittings, hoses, tubing, torque-critical fasteners, wiring, electrical connections, and system-level components.


  • Determine and perform appropriate inspection methods including first article inspections, sampling plans, process audits, and 100% inspections.


  • Analyze defects, nonconformances, and quality trends to support root cause investigations and corrective actions.


  • Review inspection results and determine product acceptance or rejection based on established quality standards.


  • Conduct final quality audits and serve as the final quality verification point prior to shipment.


  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams in resolving product and process quality issues.


  • Utilize measuring equipment, gauges, inspection tools, and quality systems to document and communicate inspection findings.


  • Review and validate corrective actions and disposition activities related to quality concerns.


  • Train and support Quality Inspector I and II employees on inspection techniques, quality standards, and workmanship requirements.


  • Support customer audits, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.


  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.


  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of quality inspection, manufacturing, assembly, electromechanical, or related experience required.


  • Visual quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required.


  • Experience inspecting complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems required.


  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, specifications, BOMs, and quality requirements.


  • Experience utilizing measuring devices, gauges, inspection equipment, and quality management systems.


  • Strong understanding of quality standards, defect identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.


  • Ability to independently evaluate product conformance and make quality-related decisions.


  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within quality and manufacturing systems.


  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.
