As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will play a supportive role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing waste across various operational areas. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply industrial engineering principles in a dynamic, global manufacturing environment.
Intern Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Industrial Engineers in conducting time studies, process flow analysis, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Collect and analyze operational data to support the development of performance metrics and efficiency reports.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen events, and standard work procedures.
- Contribute to the design and optimization of production layouts, workstations, and material handling systems.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving product quality, reducing cycle times, and decreasing manufacturing costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Qualifications
Major(s): Industrial Engineering
Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior, Recent Graduate
GPA: Min 3.0
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required. Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or simulation software is a plus.
- Effective Communication, Self-starter - Ability to drive work
- Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience
