- Defines and evolves a quality strategy aligned with InvoiceCloud’s product, platform, and engineering direction.
- Champions a shift-left testing philosophy where quality is built into design, development, and deployment decisions.
- Guides modernization of testing architecture, tools, and environments to support scalable, high-velocity delivery.
- Brings external perspective by staying current on industry best practices, quality frameworks, and emerging technologies.
- Advocates for long-term platform resilience, reliability, and customer trust at the leadership level.
- Establishes and tracks meaningful quality KPIs such as defect escape rate, automation coverage, regression duration, and release confidence.
- Translates cultural adoption of quality practices into measurable improvements in delivery speed and customer satisfaction.
- Leads proof-of-concept initiatives to validate new testing approaches, tools, or automation strategies.
- Uses data and feedback loops to continuously refine quality practices and execution.
- Drives tangible outcomes by ensuring quality improvements are reflected in release readiness and production stability.
- Partners with development, SDETs, product owners, DevOps, and platform teams to embed quality ownership across squads.
- Builds strong relationships across globally distributed teams, fostering trust and shared accountability for quality.
- Works closely with Product and Platform leaders to ensure quality considerations inform roadmap and design decisions.
- Aligns embedded SDETs on shared automation strategies, coverage goals, and quality standards.
- Acts as a connector between teams to reduce silos and promote craftsmanship.
- Serves as a visible and trusted voice for quality within the engineering leadership team.
- Communicates complex quality concepts in clear, motivating ways through storytelling, workshops, and office hours.
- Influences senior engineers and teams without authority, guiding behavior change through credibility and expertise.
- Creates shared understanding of quality goals, expectations, and progress across the organization.
- Encourages open dialogue and continuous learning around testing, reliability, and delivery excellence.
- Extensive experience in software quality engineering or software development with responsibility for influencing quality practices across multiple agile teams
- Demonstrated success driving cultural transformation from test-after to test-early or shift-left quality models
- Hands-on expertise with modern test automation frameworks across UI, API, integration, performance, and contract testing
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native environments (Azure preferred)
- Experience with observability, performance testing, and quality metrics instrumentation
- Familiarity with emerging quality paradigms such as test impact analysis, chaos testing, and AI-assisted testing
- Proven ability to influence without authority and guide senior technical teams through change
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to teach, mentor, and inspire engineers
- Comfort working with globally distributed teams and operating at leadership level
