Job Description

Position overview:

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Group Marketing Manager to lead Intuitive’s Clinical Marketing vertical in India—one of the company’s most strategically important growth markets. This is a high-visibility leadership role for a dynamic, analytical, and collaborative marketing professional who thrives at the intersection of clinical insight, commercial strategy, and stakeholder influence.

In this role, you will shape the direction of da Vinci procedure adoption across key surgical specialties, working closely with clinical, commercial, academic, and regulatory partners. You will lead a high-performing team, drive market-defining clinical value narratives, and build the ecosystem required to scale robotic-assisted surgery nationally.

Key aspects of this role include:

Understanding Ing the market – Open/MIS rate, clinical outcomes, surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement levels, incumbent surgical techniques, KOLs and societies Defining the procedure strategy and focus for the organization, develop ecosystem capabilities for identified specialties and building commercial capabilities Demonstrating execution excellence in developing Clinical Value Proposition references, Procedure-specific value pillars and excellent sales competence resources Leading, managing & growing a high performing team of marketing professionals to drive thought-leadership across the team and successfully implement marketing programs and initiatives. Fostering a community of engaged surgeon KOLs – with strong value validation references, great technique & outcomes, and ability to demonstrate the full range of da Vinci technology Quantifying the impact (QTI) of da Vinci on clinical, economic, operational and strategic priorities of the surgeon and the hospital. Developing strong customer references Building and nurturing strong partnerships with relevant Surgical societies in order to build advocacy for the value of da Vinci surgery in patient care. Designing innovative forums for the broader surgical community to have the relevant exposure and understanding of da Vinci RAS Storytelling through data - Exceptional ability to craft marketing and value proposition messages leveraging deep data and analytical skills

The Senior Group Manager – Clinical Marketing will directly influence the trajectory of robotic-assisted surgery in India—impacting how care is delivered to thousands of patients every year. This role offers the opportunity to lead at scale, influence national-level clinical practice, and build a legacy of innovation in one of the most transformative fields in modern healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Understanding & Strategic Direction

  • Conduct deep and ongoing analyses of specialty-wise trends—including Open/MIS penetration, clinical outcomes, surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement pathways, and incumbent techniques.
  • Shape the organization’s procedure strategy through insights-driven prioritization and competitive analysis.
  • Partner closely with regional marketing, commercial, and clinical teams to create aligned, high-impact strategies tailored to the India market.

2. Build Ecosystem & Commercial Capabilities

  • Define and enable Intuitive’s specialty-wise ecosystem, including clinical education pathways, surgeon development, and evidence-led adoption tools.
  • Develop best-in-class sales competence resources, procedure-specific value propositions, and evidence-backed strategic pillars.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence across the team.

3. KOL Development & Surgeon Community Engagement

  • Build and nurture a strong community of surgeon KOLs who can validate value, demonstrate strong clinical outcomes, and articulate the full capabilities of the da Vinci platform.
  • Partner with champions to create industry-leading clinical education programs, symposiums, academic initiatives, and forums that influence procedure adoption.

4. Quantify the Value of da Vinci (QTI)

  • Partner with Market Access, Key Accounts, and Clinical Affairs to generate compelling clinical, economic, and operational evidence.
  • Build strong reference sites and customer success stories that articulate measurable value to surgeons, hospitals, payers, and policy stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitive dynamics and transform insights into proactive strategic initiatives.

5. Marketing Execution Excellence

  • Lead the creation of corporate clinical and capital marketing tools that accelerate procedure adoption and system placements.
  • Deliver data-driven messaging and compelling storytelling to support commercial teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Track performance via robust KPIs and ensure timely, high-quality execution of marketing initiatives.

6. Partnerships with Surgical & Executive Societies

  • Build strong relationships with national surgical associations to advocate for robotic best practices and training pathways.
  • Lead Intuitive’s presence and thought leadership at major conferences, PG courses, robotic symposia, and academic initiatives.
  • Support digital and upcoming product integrations through collaborative programming.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in the medical device industry across sales and/or marketing, with 5+ years in clinical or product marketing and proven team leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading in a matrixed, multicultural organization.
  • Experience working in surgical environments or closely with OR stakeholders preferred.
  • MBA from a leading institute is an advantage.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Consistent track record of building strong relationships with senior clinicians and hospital leadership.
  • Strong analytical ability; comfortable navigating complex datasets and shaping insights into strategic narratives.
  • High learning agility; self-starter comfortable operating in fast-moving, unstructured environments.
  • Strong project management capability with the ability to prioritize, manage budgets, and execute at speed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; willingness to travel up to 50%, including international travel.
