Primary Function of the Position
The Material Handler 2 is an intermediate position responsible for basic material-handling in warehouse duties, supporting Production operations, both Sustaining and NPI, and other internal customers.
Essential Job Duties
This position will fulfill the following roles (If applicable to site):
- Tool Kits: Utilize Production work orders process to put together toolkits.
- Receiving: Receiving materials, physically and systemically, to be used in production operations and engineering projects.
- Parts Put-away: Physically and systemically moving approved Production materials from IQC staging areas into market storage locations. (Totes and Bulk)
- Storage Market (SMKT, KMKT, MMKT, SVKT, etc.):
- Point-of-use parts replenishment, for designated production lines.
- Maintain, report, and drive STO’s cross divisional and other locations replenishment process.
- Parts Replenishment: Point-of-use parts replenishment for designated production lines. Follow First in First Out (FIFO) when putting away, picking and replenishment material.
- MT: Fulfilling and transacting MT requests, received either electronically or via hard copy.
- Sales Order Fulfillment: Fulfilling and transacting Sales Orders
- STO: Process approved Stock Transfer Orders
- VLM: Process Vertical Lift Module orders
- SPP Kitting: Production parts replenishment via SPP kitting process.
- Pack Out: Packing System carts, FRUs and kits.
- Route Running: Kanban fulfillment and Bin to Bin transactions.
- Cross Dock: Capable of performing cross dock function.
- Ability to obtain certification across all core curriculums.
- Inventory Control: Conduct material audits and parts verification and evaluate bin capacity and consolidations to increase storage capacity. Maintain various SOX compliance audit records.
- Responsible for assisting Material Handler-1, as needed to drive productivity and accuracy.
- Responsible for complying with general Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and Warehouse housekeeping processes.
- Maintain warehouse safety and housekeeping in accordance with 5S principles.
- Achieve all warehouse-related tasks certifications.
- Communicating verbally and via email the status of material movements and transactions to appropriate internal customers.
- Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement program, including the creation and implementation of small-scale improvements.
- Able to locate and count parts accurately (using cycle-count documents), execute required WMS data input and accurately complete required documentation.
- Able to effectively apply knowledge of material flow and warehousing principles to Material Handling assignments (FIFO, consolidation, lean principles).
- Warehouse Drivers- responsible for transporting goods to and from warehouses, loading and unloading cargo, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and ensuring safe delivery of materials.
- Drivers will be on the truck 75% of their work shift and 25% in the warehouse.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Typically requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience at Intuitive, or relevant external experience of 2 - 4 years.
- Experience and/or certification in operating material-handling equipment.
- Ability to adhere to attendance, safety, quality, and performance guidelines.
- Experience with computer systems (MS Office, SAP, Agile, WMS) is preferred.
- Inventory control experience (cycle counting, physical inventories).
- A valid driver’s license and experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles is required. Experience with large trucks and knowledge of warehouse logistics is beneficial.
Required Education and Training
- Possess high school degree/ Secondary Education or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Kanban systems and other lean material handling principles.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift material up to 35 lbs.
- Load & unload trucks as needed via forklift or pallet jacks.
- Wrap, weigh & prepare shipments on skids/pallets.
- Extensive walking and repetitive physical motion (squatting, bending, lifting, climbing ladders) is required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Must continuously exhibit and showcase CCEE (Character, Capacity, Energy, and Experience)
- Excellent verbal, written skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently.
