Job Description
This role supports Intuitive’s healthcare compliance programs and transparency reporting across the EU & Indirect Markets, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, industry codes, and regulatory requirements. As a legal expert, this position provides strategic guidance on compliance best practices, engages with medical device associations, and contributes to shaping regulatory frameworks. The role also focuses on process optimization, documentation governance, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance internal controls. Additionally, it involves mentoring junior team members, supporting strategic compliance initiatives, and fostering alignment between legal and operational compliance efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the Mgr Compliance & Ethics EMEA and act as Compliance expert, overseeing compliance activities across Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal).
- Serve as the primary legal and compliance representative in engagements with medical device associations (e.g., MedTech Europe, SNITEM, ABHI, Confindustria Dispositivi Medici, FENIN, APORMED), actively participating in relevant working groups.
- Act as a subject matter expert on healthcare compliance laws and evolving regulatory frameworks, providing strategic guidance on best practices.
- Ensure engagements with HCPs and HCOs comply with local regulations and laws through administration of internal and external processes (authorizations, competent authorities, transparency).
- Manage and maintain compliance documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions, ISU training materials), ensuring timely updates and proper version control within Agile.
- Drive process improvements and automation in compliance workflows, focusing on third-party sponsorships, training engagements, and harmonization of systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Training, Legal, Contracts) to ensure compliance with data integrity and alignment with business operations.
- Contribute to timely and accurate transparency reporting to competent authorities, enhancing reporting frameworks and processes.
- Oversee maintenance of contract templates, framework agreements, and sponsorship structures in coordination with Legal and Contracts teams.
- Monitor changes in local and regional transparency laws and reporting systems, implementing updates as needed.
- Lead or contribute to strategic compliance initiatives and training programs to strengthen internal controls and foster understanding of healthcare regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and deliver onboarding and refresher training where required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience, post-graduate degree is a plus
• 7-10+ years of experience in the in the life-science/pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with Italian, Spanish and Portuguese reporting requirements and transparency.
• A good understanding of Healthcare Transparency regulations in the targeted countries
• Ideally experience with Concur, Salesforce
• The ability to work transversally across cultures, business units, support functions and countries
• Ability to manage projects and take initiative in areas where there are gaps to fill or new
projects to develop
• Ability to support, coordinate and deliver training
• Self-starter who can work with little supervision
• Logical, accurate, analytical, and excellent knowledge of IT tools
