Overview

The Junior IT Asset Management Analyst - Asset Control is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Asset Control team by receiving, tracking, organizing, and distributing company-owned IT equipment throughout the asset lifecycle. This role ensures accurate processing of incoming hardware shipments, maintains asset records, supports device deployments, and provides exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.

A significant portion of this role involves processing and checking in incoming asset shipments, including laptops, monitors, peripherals, accessories, and other technology equipment. The analyst will also support equipment shipments and deliveries to Insight Global Headquarters and offices. The analyst will assist with eWaste disposal activities and enter accurate data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

Receiving & Asset Processing

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming IT asset shipments, including laptops, monitors, docking stations, accessories, and other technology equipment.
  • Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and asset records.
  • Accurately check in and document all received equipment within ServiceNow and other asset management systems.
  • Report shipment discrepancies, damaged equipment, and missing items for resolution.

Asset Control Operations

  • Support inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with asset documentation to meet company compliance and audit standards.
  • Follow established IT Asset Management procedures and processes.

Equipment Deliveries & Logistics

  • Coordinate and deliver IT equipment to Headquarters and Campus 244 locations.
  • Prepare equipment for deployment and pickup requests.
  • Support internal logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment to employees and departments.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining asset storage areas and stockrooms.
  • Ensure disposal vendors receive approved equipment in accordance with established procedures.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Respond to asset-related requests, inquiries, and tickets in a professional and timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding equipment availability, delivery status, and asset requests.
  • Escalate issues that may impact service delivery or asset accuracy.

Process Compliance

  • Assist with maintaining organized records and documentation supporting inventory and asset lifecycle activities.
  • Follow security, chain-of-custody, and asset handling procedures.
  • Support audit readiness efforts by ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and asset management processes

Qualifications

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of IT Asset Management principles and asset lifecycle management.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience working with shipping carriers, logistics providers, or warehouse operations is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment and packages as needed.

Relevant Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, inventory control, logistics, warehouse operations, asset management, or related fields.
  • Experience working with computer hardware and technology equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Microsoft Office, and inventory management tools preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Must pass background check and any applicable pre-employment requirements.

  • 100% of incoming asset shipments are processed accurately within SLA.
  • Timely check-in and documentation of all received equipment.
  • Timely delivery and shipment of equipment to Headquarter and office locations.
  • Audit compliance and documentation accuracy.
  • Assist with timely processing of disposal shipments.
  • High stakeholder satisfaction and customer service performance.
  • Reduction of receiving and inventory discrepancies.
