Overview

The Director, Delivery oversees operational and quality delivery of the projects within their portfolio through leadership, mentorship and partnership. This position ensures effective project design and execution while fostering strategic relationships. Manages employees focused on strategic, business and action plans to achieve specified goals and objectives

Responsibilities

Program & Portfolio Leadership
• Own end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of professional services programs ranging from custom to fully outsourced managed services, ensuring alignment with client objectives, contractual commitments, and business strategy
• Establish and enforce delivery standards, governance models, and operating rhythms across all programs
• Translate executive strategy into executable program roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics.
• Drive consistency in program execution while allowing flexibility or client-specific needs

People Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Program Managers across multiple engagements.
• Set clear expectations for performance, accountability, and professional growth
• Build a high-performing, collaborative delivery culture focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Identify skill gaps and partner with leadership to drive hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.

Client & Stakeholder Leadership
• Serve as the senior delivery escalation point for clients, ensuring confidence, transparency, and trust.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Executive stakeholders to shape delivery approach during pre-sales, scoping, and transitions.
• Lead executive level client communication, including status reviews, risk discussions, negotiations, and value realization

Financial & Commercial Accountability
• Own financial performance of a portfolio, including revenue, margins, utilization, and cost control.
• Ensure programs and delivered within scope, budget, and timeline while meeting quality expectations.
• Oversee forecasting, resource allocation, and demand planning to balance growth and delivery excellence

• Partner with Sales and Solutions to manage change orders, scope adjustments, and commercial risk

Delivery Governance & Risk Management
• Establish Program Governance frameworks, including status reporting, risk management, and issue escalation.
• Ensure early identification and mitigation of delivery, operational, and client risks.
• Drive disciplined change management and scope control across all engagements
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, contractual obligations, and regulator requirements

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
• Define and refine delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Use data and KPIs to assess performance, identify trends, and drive improvements for delivery quality

Qualifications

• 10+ years in program management, engineering leadership, operations strategy, or technical consulting.
• Experience delivering programs in Utilities, Oil & Gas or Technology environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of programs with satisfactory outcomes.
• Strong understanding of project/program management and professional services.
• Familiarity with OKRs, KPI frameworks, and organizational performance systems.

Strong understanding of:
• Land acquisition and land planning processes
• Permitting and regulatory compliance
• Utility operations
• Engineering lifecycle and utility asset management practices
• Data analytics
• AI process augmentation
• Stakeholder coordination

Preferred Qualifications
• Background in engineering, Utility networks, or Utility operations
• Experience leading programs across Field Operations, Engineering and/or Technology.
• Ability to translate technical complexity into strategic clarity for stakeholders.
• MBA or equivalent professional experience
• PMP Certification
