WSO2 API Management Specialist - Marseille [H/F/D]

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced WSO2 API Management (APIM) Specialist to design, implement, secure, and maintain our enterprise API ecosystem. In this role, you will lead the development of API building blocks, orchestrate complex integrations, and optimize our API traffic infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in the WSO2 API Manager platform, hands-on integration engineering skills, and a strong understanding of modern web security protocols
Your role

• API Lifecycle & Development: Design, prototype, publish, and govern full-lifecycle REST, GraphQL, and streaming APIs using the WSO2 Publisher and Developer Portals.
• Integration & Orchestration: Build highly efficient message flows, data transformations, and service orchestrations utilizing WSO2 Micro Integrator (MI) or Enterprise Integrator (EI).
• Security & Governance: Implement robust API security frameworks, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, Mutual SSL (mTLS), API keys, and third-party Identity Provider (IdP) integrations such as Okta, Keycloak, or Azure AD
• Traffic & Resource Management: Design and enforce advanced rate limiting (throttling), burst controls, and access token validation metrics across runtime environments
• DevOps & Automation: Automate API promotions and deployments across development, staging, and production environments using WSO2 API Controller (apictl) embedded within modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Architecture & Deployment: Deploy and support distributed WSO2 architectures on-premise and across cloud orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Monitoring & Analytics: Configure logging (Log4j2), monitoring dashboards, and telemetry integrations (e.g., ELK, Moesif, Choreo) to optimize latency, track errors, and proactively debug issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Platform Experience: 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience designing and implementing infrastructure utilizing WSO2 API Manager (v3.x / v4.x).
• Integration Frameworks: Strong proficiency with WSO2 Micro Integrator, Integration Studio, Synapse configs, and XML/JSON payload transformations.
• API Standards: Comprehensive knowledge of OpenAPI Specs (Swagger), AsyncAPI, and standard web communication protocols.
• Security Tools: Deep familiarity with IAM concepts, OAuth2 grant types, XACML/OPA policies, and secure credential vaults.
• Infrastructure & Containers: Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), load balancers, and Linux environments.
• Agile Mentality: Experience working within Agile scrum teams, executing peer code reviews, and detailing comprehensive API documentation

Preferred:

• Active certification as a WSO2 Certified API Manager Practitioner, Developer, or Expert.
• Familiarity with the newer features of WSO2 v4.x+, such as AI/LLM Gateway routing and the Micro gateway architecture (Choreo Connect / Envoy).
• Experience with Java development, custom mediator writing, or custom handler creations for WSO2.
