Technology/Experience Required: Strong specialization in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Azure platform architecture.
Job Description
As a Technology Architect - EUC / AVD, the primary responsibility is to design, architect, and govern secure, scalable, and resilient virtual desktop solutions using Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure services.
The role involves solution architecture, design reviews, DevOps enablement, identity integration, and technical leadership across enterprise VDI and cloud workspace initiatives. The architect will work closely with customers, delivery teams, security, networking, and operations to ensure successful implementation and lifecycle management.

Solution Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architectures for enterprise workloads.
- Define VDI personas and design patterns for:
- Pooled and personal desktops
- Session host sizing and scaling
- Application delivery (MSIX/App Attach, FSLogix)
- Create high-availability and disaster recovery architectures for AVD environments.
- Architect and govern Azure resources including:
- Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall
- Storage Accounts, Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files
- VM Scale Sets and automation components
- Ensure alignment with Azure Well-Architected Framework principles:
- Security
- Reliability
- Performance efficiency
- Cost optimization
- Design and integrate Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) authentication for AVD.
- Architect:
- Conditional Access policies
- MFA enforcement
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Support hybrid identity scenarios with Entra Connect / cloud-only identity.
- Enable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for AVD and Azure deployments.
- Use Git for version control and collaboration.
- Define DevOps pipelines using:
- Azure DevOps / GitHub
- CI/CD practices for environment provisioning
- Promote automation using:
- ARM / Bicep / Terraform
- PowerShell and Azure CLI
- Define Azure governance models:
- Management groups
- Azure policies
- Tagging and cost controls
- Ensure security-first designs, including:
- Network isolation
- Zero Trust principles
- Secure access to desktops and applications
- Align architecture with enterprise compliance standards.
- Act as technology authority for VDI / AVD solutions.
- Conduct:
- Architecture reviews
- Design walkthroughs
- Technical risk assessments
- Mentor senior consultants and engineers.
- Collaborate with:
- Customers
- Service Owners
- Cloud, network, and security teams
- Review and optimize:
- Performance and user experience
- Cost models and consumption patterns
- Provide guidance on monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Support transition from build to run teams.
- 8+ years of overall IT experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with VDI technologies, with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale Azure solutions.
- Experience working in customer-facing consulting or large managed service environments.
- Expert-level skills in:
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design and implementation
- Azure networking and compute services
- Strong experience with:
- Azure Entra ID
- FSLogix profiles and storage design
- Automation and DevOps practices
- Proficiency with:
- Git
- Azure DevOps / GitHub
- PowerShell scripting
- Good understanding of:
- Windows VDI performance tuning
- Cost optimization strategies in Azure
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (or equivalent experience)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- AZ-104 / AZ-305 (preferred)
- ITIL Foundation (added advantage)
