Job Description:
- Supports the day to day availability and performance of s SqlServer operational support systems including the ability to troubleshoot and isolate moderate to complex system/application issues for SqlServer based operating systems and hardware.
- Proposes and implements complex system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages the configuration of the sqlserver .
- Supports the rollout of complex projects that impact SqlServer operational support systems. Installing, configuring, and testing different produce sets on SqlServer 2008R2,2012 ,2014,2016,2017 and 2019
- Provides 24x7 support on a rotating basis is required and responsible for performing the job in accordance Client vision and values
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Responsible to support 1000+ Sql db servers(2000 to 2019) and provide oncal support.
• Responsible for all operational aspects of Sql Server database systems including performance, integrity and security.
• Plan and execute database migration from Microsoft SQL Server to Postgre
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues and provide advice on improving database performance.
• Monitor performance of the database and the database servers; Determine optimal performance parameters for the database server, operating system etc. and tune as needed.
• Carry out periodic maintenance of the database including table extents, indexes etc.
• Carry out periodic maintenance of the database platform in terms of software updates, security updates and service packs.
• Plan, test and execute a data migration from a Microsoft SQL Server DBMS to Postgre db
• Ensure that redundant database systems are properly maintained, and that they are available for activation as and when required.
• Carry out database design tasks in conjunction with the software development team and implement enhancements and modifications to the database.
• Monitor database logs and take corrective action on issues if required.
• Participate 24x7 on call support on a weekly rotating schedule, including weekends
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/documentation
• Experience in legacy db versions (Sqlserver 200,2005,2008 ) as he will be part of migrations to Postgre and upgrade to Sql server 2019
• Provide escalation support for database related issues
• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members as needed
• Develop administration automation and monitoring scripts as needed Required industry experience:
- 5 to 7 years' experience in SqlServer and knowledge on other RDBMS db's
- Excellent communication ,interpersonal ,analytical skills
- Planning and Co-ordination skills
- Experience with project management
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience ITIL Incident, change, Problem, Release management process
- Experience and desire to work in a management consulting environment
- Experience resolving more complex technical problems through a defined escalation process
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong time management, process improvement, and scheduling skills
- Able to work and communicate across multiple departments.
- Provides strategic/visionary recommendations.
- Establishes methods and procedures for the team.
- Initiates and owns process improvements and convey changes to others, gain organizational support for making changes.
- Extensive knowledge of key Client systems and processes.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Microsoft sql server administration(preferred)
- Experience with backup technologies such as IBM TSM, Avamar and DELL ddboost
- Experience in working on ITSM tool BMC Remedy
